These workshops can be used for Schools and corporate team building events. I also am available to play at shows, publicity events, weddings and private parties.
The Didgeridoo is a wind instrument that has been played by the Aboriginal people of Australia for what is thought to be between 2000 and as much 45,000 years. No one really knows how long it has been played, it got the name Didgeridoo by the early white settlers in Australia as they had seen and heard it being played in ceremonies and dance rituals and it was also used to mimic the wild animals heard by the Aborigines as they are hunter gatherers and being close to nature is very important. To the early settlers it was an instrument that did everything.
Today the Didgeridoo is played as a musical instrument across the globe and is played in bands through all music genres, please see my CD page for information about my album.
My talks and performances are suitable for all age groups and can be tailored to your specific needs.
I can travel nationally and internationally, and talk about.
- The aboriginal peoples culture and beliefs.
- History, natural history and geography of Australia.
- Aboriginal art and music.
These workshops also help break down racial and musical boundaries.
During the talk I perform with the didgeridoo and play a number of rhythms that I have written myself.
I do not play in the traditional style of playing I play the western style but there are many different styles today.
Traditionally the didgeridoo was tuned to roughly C or C# and could be as long as 6 metres. It is now available in every musical key in the chromatic scale.
